“Lead me on the trail of your commandments because that is what I want.” Ps 119:35
“All the LORD’s paths are loving and faithful for those who keep his covenant and laws.” Ps 25:10
If you have a GPS system in your car or truck you know how handy a tool it is for directions in getting from one place to another. In most of the different available systems there is a pleasant “built in person” who reminds you if you make a wrong turn by saying “recalculating”.
The person with the pleasant voice doesn’t jump out of the dashboard and give you a dolt slap to the back of the head when you make the wrong turn. She, and most of the systems I’m familiar with records a female voice, doesn’t make a comment like, “Are you listening to me?”
No…she calmly says, “recalculating” and you start all over again.
The Holy Spirit is our navigation voice from Heaven who directs, recalculates our life direction if we let him. He keep us on the correct course. He teaches and leads the way we should follow. He’s there to the very end of our journey of life, no matter whether we turn to the right or left, he provides the directions to get back on course. Listen to that still small voice urging, “this is the way; walk in it” and “I will not forsake you.”
Ps. 25:9; Ps. 23:2; Isa. 30:21; Isa. 42:16
God forgives all our sins; He forgives us when we veer off the correct path. He opens our eyes, mind and heart to see where we have gone wrong.
“…open their eyes (our) eyes, so that they (we) may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they (we) may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.” Ac. 26:18
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 Jn. 1:9 Don’t miss the key word…confess.
O heavenly Father, alert me today, everyday, when I stray off course that you have for me in my life so that I can achieve the goal you have set for me. Help me to remember, mark the times, events in my life when it’s plainly clear that You caused great things in my life so that I may go back later and remember your steadfast love. Every day, lead me to the instruction book, the Bible, for your directions on how to become a better navigator.
