For unto us a child is born,
To us a son is given,
And the government will be on his shoulders,
And he will be called

My dictionary says that everlasting means lasting forever; eternal duration. I find it comforting in an ever-changing world to know that God, my Everlasting Father, is unchanging.
Scripture says the following about our Everlasting Father.
“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable.” Isa 40:28
“Before the mountains were born, or Thou didst give birth to the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, Thou art God.” Psalm 90:2
“Trust in the LORD forever, for in God the LORD, we have an everlasting Rock.” Isa 26:4
“Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; for His lovingkindness is everlasting.” Ps. 107:1
“The LORD appeared to him from afar, saying, ‘I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have drawn you with lovingkindness.” Jer 31:3
1 Timothy 1:17 says “Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.”
· Eternal: Without beginning or end; lasting forever; always existing.
“Your word, O LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.” Ps 119:89
· Immortal : Not mortal; not subject to death; everlasting; perpetual.
“Who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen.” 1 Tim 6:16
· Invisible: The unseen or spiritual world; not perceptible or discernible by the mind.
“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – his eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.” Rom 1:20
Father, Eternal Everlasting Father, thank you for loving kindness and mercy extended to all who will receive. Thank you for being a solid rock on which we can stand. Thank you for your Word, which is alive and eternal. Thank you that seeking eyes and hearts can always find you, even though you are invisible to the world. Thank you for sending Your Son to this earth as a baby, to live, and then to die on a cross so we can spend eternity with you. Humble our hearts this Christmas season as we celebrate the greatest birth ever to occur. Jesus is truly the Reason for the Season. Amen and Amen.
