“Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus, so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” – Roman 15:5-6
This year Fire on the Altar (FOTA) will be partnering with National Day of Prayer to offer to the Lord 50 hours of unified, non-stop worship and prayer for West Houston/Katy and the America. We are excited about this opportunity and believe that it will be an amazing time of strategic and powerful worship and intercession to the King of kings and the Lord of lords.
In Jesus’ High Priestly prayer in John 17, Jesus prays to the Father that His people, those whom He loves, would be unified so that He would be glorified and the world would know Him. “The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them even as You have loved Me.” (John 17:22-23) Jesus’ desire and prayer is that His Beloved ones, His Bride, the Church would be unified in Him. We believe that when the Church comes together despite denominational differences in the name of Jesus to pray, that it is a powerful force that the evil one cannot stop.
We see the power of the prayers of God’s people in 2 Chronicles 7:14, God promises : “and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sins and will heal their land.” God’s promises are yes and amen, we can take Him at His word. So let’s join together May 1st -3rd, unified in holy reverence and expectancy that God will hear our voices and that He will respond.
