“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.” Rev 21:1 -2
It’s graduation time again and from now to about the second weekend in June there is a graduation ceremony going on somewhere.
Most of us have completed certain educational requirements that entitled us to a diploma or degree. When you completed your graduation requirements, you probably looked forward to the day when you would walk across the stage and receive your diploma.
One day we will walk across the stage of eternity and graduate into eternal life.
Rejoice on that great graduation day that our names are written in heaven. “For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies.” 1 Co 15:53
“…everyone whose name is found written in the book–will be delivered.” Da 12:1
We will be clothed in a white graduation robe. “He who overcomes…be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels.” Rev. 3:5
Jesus will await us with our diploma, “a crown of life” Rev. 2:10, “a crown of righteousness” 2 Ti 4:8, “a crown that will last forever” 1 Co 9:25.
Receiving a personal gift from Jesus makes that heavenly graduation ceremony a day to look forward to with great anticipation–a day to die for, but more importantly, a day to live for!
We will be there because of Jesus and our faith and trust in Him. Heaven will be the ultimate fulfilling of God’s Promises.
Thank you heavenly Father for the promise of a heavenly reward some day, when we will walk across the stage of life and come face to face with you in our graduation. You will shake our hand, hug us, and say congratulations, a job well done. We will “enter his gates with thanksgiving.”
