I WIll Remember

As you think about Easter

Remember…

THE TRIAL…

An innocent man, mocked and ridiculed

HIS BODY…

       flogged and beaten

THE CROWN…

made of thorns that was placed on his head

THE CROSS…

where Jesus willingly gave his life for you and me

THE NAILS…

that pierced his hands and feet and held him to that CROSS

HIS BLOOD…

that was shed so your sin, and mine, could be forgiven

THE TOMB…

that was sealed, but still could not contain the Son of God.

THE GIFT…

freely given through faith in Jesus Christ

I don’t think about Easter without hearing the words to a song written many years ago by my friend.  Join me and consider His great love for us as we ponder the chorus:

I will remember…what You did for me

I will remember…the cross of Calvary

I will remember…the price You paid for me

The blood You shed

The pain You bore

That I might be set free

Father, I thank you for sending your One and Only Son to be the sacrifice for my sin.  I thankfully and gratefully accept the free gift of salvation that was purchased by the precious blood of Jesus on Golgotha’s hill so many years ago.  I thank you that the story of Jesus did not end on that hill, but it continues today.  Death and the grave could not hold your Son.  The empty grave is Your victory over sin and death.  Jesus is alive!  Hallelujah!  Praise Your Holy Name!
