Lord, You are more precious than silver
Lord, You are more costly than gold
Lord, You are more beautiful than diamonds
Father, the words of this song remind me that in all of creation there is none like you. All of the riches of the world have no value compared to you. You alone can never be lost or destroyed. You are eternal with no beginning and no end. Your Word, O Lord, is sure and true, standing the test of time. When all else is gone, you are there. In time of hopelessness or joy; in time of despair or delight; only you remain the same. You are the solid rock in life’s shifting sand. All of this and more displays your beauty, O God.
Ps 27:4 (Amplified): “One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after, inquire for and [insistently] require, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord [in His presence] all the days of my life, to behold and gaze upon the beauty [the sweet attractiveness and the delightful loveliness] of the Lord, and to meditate, consider and inquire in His temple.
Prov. 8:17-21 (NASB): “I love those who love me; and those who diligently see me will find me. Riches and honor are with me, enduring wealth and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, even pure gold, and my yield that choicest silver. I walk in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of justice. To endow those who love me with wealth, that I may fill their treasuries.”
Father, may I consistently require You, knowing that searching for You is far above any other treasure. Only You can satisfy. Only You.
