Morning in the Word

“So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” Matt 7:12

“Do to others as you would have them do to you.” Luke 6:31

Life is full of situations where we face something or someone that is not pleasant. We call out to God for his protection and his holy wisdom.

It might be a family situation, a job supervisor that has been really hard to work with, or the many other social situations we encounter in everyday life.

“Lord, I cry out for you to come and right my situation.” But how often have you prayed for the one who is the source of the problem?

Love, try not to hate, pray for them as you pray for yourself…

But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.” Matt: 5:44-45

“Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers over all wrongs.” Prov 10:12

Give that extra measure of love in the family…

Do for my spouse what I expect my spouse to do for me.

Do for my children what I want, or expect from them.

Come before the Lord and pray for your loved ones.

Lord, remind me that I’m not the only one who may be having needs, or problems. Help me to remember that the person who I think is causing hurt or anxiety in my life has needs or problems also. Though I may not know what is going on in their lives, I pray that you will touch them and help them.
