We have received calls to urgent prayer and fasting for our nation from highly respected national level spiritual leaders including Billy Graham’s daughter, Anne Graham Lotz, Cindy Jacobs of the Reformation Prayer Network, as well as Allen Hood, Associate Director International House of Prayer. We trust the Lord’s speaking through multiple national prayer leaders and as such are responding in joining in this call to prayer and fasting.
The purpose is threefold:
· For God the Father to restrain, protect, and deliver His people from the evil that has come into our world.
· For God the Son to be exalted, magnified, and glorified in His Church, in our nation, and in our lives.
· For God the Holy Spirit to fall on us in a fresh way, compelling the Church to repent of sin and our nation to return to faith in the living God, resulting in a great national spiritual awakening.
We will be joining in one spirit and one voice with believers across the nation in worship, repentance, and intercession during these 7 days. Will you intention to set aside an hour each day for prayer for yourself and for America, as well as unite on the final day, Monday, July 7, for the Solemn Assembly at Grace Fellowship UMC. We urge you to fast for 7 hours (as led by the Holy Spirit) on that day as well, believing for a great turning toward God and asking for God’s great mercy! Fasting resources are available in the prayer center or you can email email@example.com and we’ll send to you.
We welcome you to join us in The Great Southwest Prayer Center, a place of prayer in the city, including on July 4th. (Would you spend part of your July 4th praying for America!) Visit www.thegreatsouthwestprayercenter.org for a full up-to-date schedule.
Please feel free to share this urgent prayer call with other believers.
I close with an invitation to join me as I begin this week of prayer by asking the Lord to show me my own heart, how my own heart is far from Him, the dark places of sin, evil, and apathy. Let revival come…let it begin in me.
“Blow the trumpet in Zion; consecrate a fast; call a Solemn Assembly, gather the people. Consecrate the congregation; assemble the elders; gather the children, even the nursing infants. Let the bridegroom leave his room, and the bride her chamber.” Joel 2:15-16 “…let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep and say, “spare Your people, O Lord, and make not Your heritage a reproach, a byword among the nations.” v.17
